There is so much momentum for People, Planet and Peace over Profit! The 10 days of action helped invigorate those who have been educating, agitating and celebrating in support of economic, climate and food democracy. The action also helped grow the movement of people aware of the problems and ready to become a part of the solution as big as the crisis we face by coming together with other groups and demanding change now!
May 15: Global Fast Food Strike
Support the global Fast Food Strike! Workers all over the world are striking, demanding living wages of $15 an hour. Workers are also rallying around the right to form a union. Showing your support for fast food workers walking off of the job during a strike sends them and their employers the message that the workers are safe. When big crowds show up to demonstrations where workers are demanding better treatment, it lets companies know they will deal with public repercussions if workers are retaliated against for striking. Currently, workers from McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Burger King are expected to walk off of the job on May 15.
