We are excited to announce the upcoming NYC Climate Convergence, happening the weekend of September 19 through the 21*! The Climate Convergence will be a conference, skill share and festival rolled into one – assisting mobilization for change to prevent catastrophic climate change. The NYC Climate Convergence is demanding an end to fossil and nuclear fuels by 2030 and tens of millions of living wage jobs as well as new energy, food, transit and sanitation systems built by taxes from the rich. The root of the problem is an economic system that exploits people and the planet for profit – an emergency transition to a new kind of economy is the only way to fight against the exploitation, warfare, poverty, racism and ever-increasing ecological devastation caused by the current system.
This weekend is a time for discussing politics, movement building, talking about real solutions and developing action plans. Workshops, panels, music and community building are all on the agenda.
