This year's theme focuses on the growing resistance to Trump's agenda and the greater capitalist system that produced him. Now more than ever we need to come together and discuss ways to collaborate and strengthen our movements and build independent socialist community and power.
Amid growing resistance in the streets and in popular culture, the Boston Socialist Unity Project's second annual conference seeks workshops to strengthen our movements, deepen our understanding, increase collaboration, and build independent power. With conference-wide sessions that include Vijay Prashad, Sherri Mitchell, Eugene Puryear, and Fred Magdoff (list in formation), the conference workshops offer opportunities for in-depth conversations, cross-organization networking, and sharing organizing skills.
Visit with organizations from all over our great city, who are driving change in Boston, the country and the world. Connect with people who share your passion for the people in our community, and find ways to get involved. Meet your fellow comrades - your neighbors, community leaders, coworkers and friends who are fighting for social justice.
The 2016 conference at Old South Church proved that very diverse socialists and socialist groups in the Boston area can discuss issues and work together productively. Missed it? Check out some of the 2016 Annual Conference: "Building Socialism. Building Our Movements" podcasts and videos.
The organizing committee has hand-picked a selection of workshops covering the most important topics to Boston activists.
See the schedule below for the workshop sessions on Saturday at 11:30 PM and 2:30 PM.
